Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a relationship with Nederman’s customer base whether it is directly with the end user or Nederman dealer network. They are to provide service work for all industrial air pollution equipment furnished by Nederman. Effecting repairs in mechanical, electrical and/or pneumatic control areas promote sales of parts and services. Equipment includes vehicle exhaust, baghouses, fans, oil mist collectors, pipe systems, source capture hoods, electrical controls, spark detection systems and mechanical conveyors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Immediately responds to customer requests for emergency service when equipment is shut down.
- Identify problems with equipment and repair when possible, or inform the responsible person within the Division so immediate corrective action may be taken.
- Help identify and resolve problems with the manufacturing of products.
- Commission and certify new and existing installations, furnishing complete information/ reports to Sales, Engineering and/or Installation.
- Help develop and assist with special projects, providing engineering with results.
- Furnish complete Service Reports, including description of work, parts used, time required, travel miles required, customer contact, and purchase order number so that paid service calls can be billed immediately. Reports storage and customer relationship management (CRM) to be performed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Promote sales of repair parts, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance services.
- Coordinate customer complaints with appropriate department to ensure problem is promptly and fairly resolved.
- Manage travel expenses and day to day scheduling of own activities in coordination with service and parts manager
- Ability to take airflow readings and/or measurements with Nederman provided equipment to ensure system meets the engineered design requirements. If not, must understand airflow to make the necessary adjustments to balance the system
- Other appropriate job duties as assigned by the manager.
Job Specifications:
Education required:
- High school Diploma plus 2-3 years of other specialized vocational schooling
Experience required:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience performing service and maintenance activities in an industrial environment.
Professional license or certification requirements:
- Valid state driver’s license
- Certification from the industrial ventilation conference (level 1).
- Certified in: Confined space, lock out/tag out, areal lift (boom and platform), fall harness, arc flash
Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required:
- General working knowledge of industrial ventilation design and motor controls for troubleshooting of systems.
- Familiarity with PLC programming, ladder logic and variable frequency drives
- Mechanically and electrically inclined with the ability to perform “hands on” tasks
- Ability to work in a non-structured, entrepreneurial environment.
- Team oriented personality
- Willingness to learn new technology and accept personal responsibility for own development and performance.
- Any materials carried are normally light in weight (less than 25lbs) and hand carried from technician’s service vehicle or a nearby location within the customer’s site.
