Gasmet, founded in 1990, consists of the parent company and five subsidiaries located at strategic locations around the world. The headquarters and factory are located in Vantaa, Finland. We have around 135 personnel, and in 2023, the group's revenue was over 30 M€. Gasmet operates in more than 80 countries covering all continents.

Gasmet is part of the Nederman Group and stands under the Monitoring & Control Technology division with Neo Monitors and Auburn FilterSense.

The role

We are looking for a dynamic Managing Director with

  • a proven track record in sales and service to generate growth and be responsible for the overall management of our location in the UK and business also in Ireland. Experience in a similar business as ours is a great advantage.
  • strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach to lead our team in delivering outstanding results.

The UK Managing Director will report to the Sales & Service Director of Gasmet Group based in Finland.

Key responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility of the Gasmet UK, including budgeting and monthly reporting of performance
  • Oversee daily operations, managing a team of diverse and strong personalities while fostering a positive, productive work environment.
  • Leverage deep experience and knowledge in sales and service functions to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership to inspire, coach, and develop the team, resolving conflicts and enhancing performance across all levels.
  • Align with the strategic objectives and guidance from the global parent company, ensuring clear communication and execution of company-wide goals.
  • While maintaining strong alignment with the parent company's vision, ensure a focused and motivated approach toward the subsidiary's regional goals and market-specific opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales & service strategies and roadmaps that deliver high growth while managing budgets and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

We are looking for a person who’s ready and willing to participate customer meetings, and support the sales & service teams in establishing strong relationships with customers and decision makers in various industries, such as waste-to-energy, power plants, cement production, research, safety etc.

Our ideal Managing Director leads by example, manages to create a positive and forward-looking culture, and contributes building a "one Gasmet" company culture within the UK team in close cooperation with Gasmet HQ.

The MD needs to feel comfortable in the environment and pace of listed company where monthly financial reporting plays a crucial role in the monthly routines. The MD should develop good understanding of gas analysis and emission monitoring business.

The role of the Managing Director in UK is a challenging and rewarding hands-on position, as it requires a combination of technical, commercial, and managerial skills, as well as a deep understanding of the UK market and the customer needs and expectations.

In this role, you will closely work with the Group’s Sales & Service Director as well as occasionally with other regional directors of Gasmet. You are also a part of Gasmet Group’s extended Management Team. 

What we expect

We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional in the field of gas analysis systems and emission monitoring solutions, with the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably as a Managing Director, General Manager, Sales Director, Service Director, or similar.
  • Exceptional people management and leadership skills, with a strong ability to manage a team with diverse personalities, and ability to motivate and inspire your team.
  • Desire to be involved in operational sales cases, act as a substitute in the sales team’s duties when necessary
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth and achieving sales/service targets, preferably with experience in the UK market and in the sectors and segments relevant to Gasmet's products and services.
  • Strong understanding of aligning local business strategies with global corporate objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a high level of motivation to drive the success of the assigned territory.
  • You are committed to building a "one Gasmet" company culture, in alignment with the Nederman Group's vision and values, as well as collaborate and coordinate with other managers and colleagues across the Gasmet Group and the Nederman Group.
  • Willingness to work in our UK office and lead the troops from there (partial remote work is possible)
  • Possibility to travel from time to time in UK and globally
  • Technical background, preferably with a degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline is an advantage.

You are also a self-motivated and proactive person, who can work independently with an ability to balance independence with adherence to parent company instructions. You are a team player and a problem solver, who can work collaboratively. You are customer-oriented, flexible and adaptable, and can cope with changing and challenging situations. You are also ethical and responsible, and can act in accordance with the company's policies and values.
